WHAT IS PREVENTION DERIVATIONS?
ULTIMATE GOAL OF PREVENTION DERIVATIONS
The broad action can be described as creating a
prevention derivatives market,
in which social
innovations can flow to prevent risks across stake holders
categories.There is an under-utilized capacity to prevent
harm. The most obvious example is with climate change,
and the value of taking action to reduce increase in
WHO'S ON THE TEAM?
The prevention derivatives team consist of many talented individuals that span across a multitude of different disciplines. Among those specialties are data analysts, data scientists, communications, grant writing, environmental scientist, insurance experts, fire fighters/wildfire experts, instructional designers, and ux/ui developers.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The belief at CrowdDoing is that every volunteer should be able to craft his or hers own role with the organization. When we interview volunteers we look for a desire to make societal impacts and the desire for professional and personal growth. CrowdDoing will give you the opportunity to work with a cross-functional team and to identify a personal pathway to success.
WHEN DO WE MEET?
Prevention Derivatives meeting are held via Microsoft Teams and meet twice a week. The meetings are Wednesdays 12 pm PST (3 pm EST) and Thursdays 2pm PST (5pm EST). Some meetings may be scheduled with sub-teams or specialties within the prevention derivatives initiative.
COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK
The Prevention Derivatives team communicates through email (outlook/teams) and slack. Outside of meetings communication will be kept to text bases forms. After on-boarding you will be added to the teams slack channel, this will provide you the opportunity to ask questions and get acquainted with the team.
CrowdDoing will provide multiple opportunities to inter disciplianry growth. Interested volunteer should check the CrowdDoing Moodle site for educational additional opportunities. CrowdDoing also provides ample opportunity for Volunteer recognition though the Badging initiative, this will give volunteers the opportunity to standout amongst their team and to current or future employers.
